Financial Scam

A well known scam as set out by The Economist. Send out 100,000 emails offering the perfect investment advice and invite recipients to entrust their funds to you if you consistently forecast the movement of a stock correctly for ten weeks. Pick a stock at random and send a buy recommendation to half and a sell recommendation to the other half. In the second week target only the 50,000 to whom you gave the correct advice and so on for the full ten weeks. This will leave after ten weeks around 98 to whom you have consistently given the right advice and they may happily entrust their funds to you. After all, they will argue, what are the chances of being correct ten times in a row.  [Just keep the 99,902 away from the 98!]
